Product Lead

About Us

At Memora, we’re digitizing one of the oldest and most overlooked categories on earth: the cemetery. Most still run on paper maps, spreadsheets, and institutional memory. We are replacing this with an ecosystem for everyone who touches a cemetery: the leadership running it, the field teams maintaining it, the families visiting it, and the local partners serving them.

We’re backed by leading investors and guided by a team of experienced founders and engineers from well known tech names reimagining a category long overdue for change. We’re deliberately lean, and will keep it that way.

Job Description

This is a remote position.

Product Lead – Memora

We’re hiring a Product Lead to own the product end to end: a hands-on IC role with real product and cultural ownership. You are not a backlog administrator. You are the person who decides what we build, why, and in what order — and who stands behind that call.

The Why

Memora is growing rapidly. We’re selling into a sector with almost no digital precedent, which means there is no playbook to copy and no competitor roadmap to trail. We need someone who can:

• Get the truth from the field — cemetery leaders, gardeners, and grieving families — rather than from a meeting room
• Turn messy sector reality (Danish folkekirke structures, legacy systems, public-sector procurement) into product decisions engineers can build from
• Prioritise ruthlessly across three live surfaces and say no with reasons
• Be a thoughtful, methodical product voice in a small team where every person has outsized influence

The Surfaces

• Tooling — Jira + Confluence, Figma, PostHog, Grafana for the operational picture

Who you are

Must have:

• Typically 6+ years in product, including at least one role at a growth startup or as an early product hire
• A track record of shipping software people actually use — you can point at outcomes, not roadmaps
• Genuinely comfortable doing fieldwork: you will stand on cemeteries in the rain and learn more there than anywhere else. Talk with our customers, cemetery leaders, gardeners. Break down the data sources, organise product summits with our userbase.
• Strong written communication — you can make a complex trade-off legible in a page, and you write your own specs
• Technical enough to hold a real conversation about trade-offs with engineers, and to read the data yourself
• Comfortable operating in a small team without a clear playbook: you can scope your own work, write your own docs, and chase your own answers

Strongly preferred:

• B2B/B2G SaaS experience: sales cycles, real customer relationships, public-sector quirks
• Operations-heavy or field-workforce products, where the software has to survive contact with a real working day
• Experience with compliance-sensitive data (we’re GDPR + public-sector)
• Marketplace or two-sided product experience

Bonus:

• Experience with cemetery, GIS, or public records systems
• You have run discovery in a sector that had never been sold software before
• Fluent in Danish

How we work

We’re building Memora to be the kind of company we’d want to work for ourselves: high trust, low bureaucracy, and full of people who care deeply about doing great work.

• We’re remote by design. No, we don’t track hours or expect people to be online all day, but we do expect ownership, communication, and roughly 4 hours of overlap with Copenhagen (CET).
• We believe great work and great lives aren’t in competition with each other. Remote work means your whole life doesn’t stop when work starts and that’s a good thing by us. Families, school pickups, deep-focus afternoons: we welcome the whole human. We optimize for people doing the best work of their careers while still having a life they’re excited to live.
• We’re a small team, which means you’ll have real autonomy and real influence. Everyone talks to customers, helps onboard them, visits cemeteries, and sees first-hand how their work impacts real people. There are no layers of management and no “that’s someone else’s problem” mentality.
• We’re low ego and high standards. We challenge ideas, admit mistakes, ask questions, and care more about getting to the right answer than being right. Psychological safety matters here, and so does excellence.
• We’re async-first and intentionally lightweight. We write things down, keep meetings purposeful, and avoid process for process’ sake. Our default approach is simple: communicate clearly, make good decisions, and ship.
• And because we’re building a real team, not just a collection of Slack profiles, we get together for an offsite three times a year somewhere in the world. Last time, we spent the week skiing and working together, because the best ideas don’t always happen in a meeting room.

Compensation & equity

• Senior salary (currency calibrated to location)
• Meaningful early-employee warrant grant: we’re early enough that this matters and we want you for the full journey
• Annual leave + Danish-equivalent benefits
• 3 offsites a year
