Questions
Where do these numbers come from?
From open job postings JobRipe has seen in the last 90 days. We group similar job titles into roles, look at which skills each role's postings ask for, and compare them with yours. Nothing is estimated or made up.
What does the skill match mean?
The share of a role's core skills you already have, weighted by how often its postings ask for each one. 70% or more is “Ready now”, 40–69% is “One step away” and 20–39% is a “Stretch”.
Why is there no pay for some roles?
We only show a median when at least 5 postings for that role include a pay range. Fewer than that wouldn't be a fair picture, so we say so instead.
Why didn't my skill count?
We match skills that appear in job postings, such as “sql”, “excel”, “salesforce” or “accounting”. If one of yours isn't recognised yet, we tell you rather than guess.
How do I show a missing skill?
Where JobRipe has a short skill check for it, we link to it. Pass with 80% and recruiters see it on your profile.
