Fake job scams: what to know
Do real employers ever charge a fee?
No. Any request for a registration, training, kit, security or processing fee is the strongest sign of a fake job.
Why is Telegram or WhatsApp recruitment risky?
Real companies hire through their careers site and company email. Scammers use chat apps because accounts are anonymous and disposable.
What is a task scam?
You're paid small amounts to like videos or rate hotels, then asked to 'invest' to unlock bigger tasks. The money never comes back.
How do I confirm a job is real?
Find the same job on the company's own careers page, and check the recruiter's email domain matches the company's website.
How do I report a suspicious job on JobRipe?
Email support@jobripe.com with the job link and what looks wrong (or use "Report this job" on the job page). We check it and take the listing down if it is fake.
