Job Description A global retail organisation is looking for a Frontend Engineer to develop digital solutions that support retail operations, store planning and the design of physical customer environments.

The organisation delivers a range of digital capabilities, including web platforms, digital design systems, store planning and optimisation tools, digital retail experiences, learning platforms and knowledge management solutions.

The team is responsible for developing the tools and ways of working that enable thousands of employees across stores worldwide to plan and design customer-facing environments.

The primary focus of this assignment is to build a user-friendly, production-ready planning entry point while ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and services.

The successful candidate will work closely with product, business and UX teams to understand user needs, identify optimal solutions and deliver scalable digital experiences. The role requires a strong understanding of modern web architecture, system integrations and component-driven development.

The candidate is expected to build upon the existing architecture rather than replace it, ensuring a clean, maintainable solution that supports the organisation's evolving technical landscape.

The candidate should:

• Be a collaborative team player who takes ownership of delivering high-quality, production-ready frontend solutions and their underlying integrations.

• Have a strong understanding of modern web technologies, including consuming and developing REST APIs and OpenAPI services.

• Have experience with component-driven UI development and design systems.

• Understand information flows between systems and how to design clean, maintainable integrations.

• Be able to adapt to existing architectures and extend them in a structured and scalable way.

• Collaborate effectively with product, business and UX teams to deliver solutions that meet end-user needs.

Required skills and experience:

• TypeScript and React.

• UX-driven development.

• DevOps experience.

• AI-assisted, specification-driven development.

• State management.

• Web accessibility.

• Component-driven UI development and design systems.

• Knowledge of creating 3D user experiences.

Additional advantages:

• Three.js or Babylon.js.

• Full-stack development experience.

• CI/CD and continuous integration and deployment.

The following experience is considered an advantage:

• 3D visualisation technologies such as Three.js, React Three Fiber, Autodesk Platform Services (APS) or similar.

• Headless CMS solutions and dynamic page rendering.

• AI-assisted solutions and integrations.

• Event-driven architectures and observability tooling.

• Retail planning, commercial planning or experience from large-scale retail environments. Application
