AU Google Ads Specialist (Advanced Tracking & AI Automation) (018-1441)

Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Google Ads Specialist

Compensation range: $1,750 - $2,500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type:Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is an established Australian digital marketing agency supporting businesses with end-to-end digital solutions designed to improve their online presence, generate leads, and achieve measurable business outcomes.

The agency works across a broad range of digital services, combining creative, technical, and performance-focused expertise to deliver tailored solutions for its clients. Their team takes a results-driven approach, with a strong focus on transparency, quality, collaboration, and long-term client relationships.

Role Overview:

We’re engaging experienced Google Ads specialists in the Philippines as independent contractors to work with our Perth team. The focus of this engagement is conversion tracking. If an account isn’t measuring the right things, we fix that before anything else, and you’ll be the one leading that work.

You’ll take direction from our Google Ads lead in Perth and work closely with our Account Managers. Perth and the Philippines share the same time zone year round, so you’ll be online with the rest of the team during Perth business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

What you’ll be doing

• Set up, audit and troubleshoot conversion tracking across Google Ads, GA4, Google Tag Manager and Cloudflare Zaraz, including Enhanced Conversions, Consent Mode v2, call tracking and offline conversion imports.
• Manage and optimise Google Ads campaigns across Search, Performance Max, Shopping, Display and YouTube for multiple client accounts.
• Monitor CPA, ROAS and lead volume, making data-driven adjustments to meet each client’s performance targets.
• Build landing pages in WordPress using Astra Pro and Elementor when required.
• Improve landing page conversion rates by testing headlines, offers, forms and page speed.
• Prepare performance reports focused on meaningful business outcomes, including leads, calls, sales and revenue, rather than just clicks and impressions.
• Keep Account Managers informed about campaign performance, progress towards targets and any issues requiring attention.
• Set up new Google Ads accounts from scratch and manage them on an ongoing basis.

Working with AI agents

AI plays an important role in campaign analysis, optimisation and reporting. You’ll use AI tools, including Claude and its integrations with advertising, analytics and reporting platforms, to identify wasted spend, uncover tracking issues, analyse campaign data, draft ad copy and prepare client reports.

The tools, prompts and integrations are already in place. We’re looking for someone who can direct AI agents effectively, critically assess their outputs and apply sound judgement before taking action.

Day to day, this will involve:

• Using AI agents to audit advertising accounts and verifying their findings directly in the relevant platforms before sharing recommendations with clients.
• Analysing search terms, auction insights and conversion paths across multiple accounts to identify opportunities and prioritise actions.
• Using AI to draft ad copy, landing page content and report commentary, then refining the output for accuracy, relevance and brand voice.
• Developing clear, reusable prompts and workflows that help the wider team replicate effective processes.

You don’t need to be a developer, but you must understand that AI-generated outputs require human review and validation before they can be relied upon. You’ll have access to the company’s AI tools from day one.

Requirements

• At least five years of hands-on Google Ads experience, ideally with substantial experience in a digital marketing agency.
• Practical experience building and troubleshooting Google Tag Manager and GA4 tracking setups, including diagnosing why conversions aren’t firing correctly.
• A solid understanding of the dataLayer, with enough HTML and JavaScript knowledge to troubleshoot and implement tracking on more complex websites.
• Strong experience with Performance Max, Shopping campaigns, Merchant Center feeds and Smart Bidding strategies.
• Experience auditing, restructuring and improving underperforming or poorly configured Google Ads accounts.
• Experience managing substantial advertising budgets and controlling spend throughout the month.
• Hands-on experience building and optimising landing pages, with examples of how your changes improved conversion rates.
• Experience managing campaigns across different industries and delivering results against defined performance targets.
• Practical experience using AI assistants or agents, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, to analyse campaigns and improve workflows. Exposure to agentic tools such as Claude Code, MCP connectors or scripted automations is an advantage.
• Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to explain technical tracking issues and campaign performance clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS

• Experience with Cloudflare Zaraz, server-side tagging, HubSpot or other CRM tracking integrations.
• Experience implementing tracking for Shopify or WooCommerce.
• Experience building reports in Looker Studio, with the ability to present data visually and communicate key insights clearly and concisely.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

• Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
• Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
