Software Architect

About Invisix

Semiconductor manufacturers can't build what they can't measure. Invisix Measuring Systems is a fast-growing scale-up in the high-tech industry, developing next-generation metrology solutions for the semiconductor sector. We reconstruct the detailed 3D geometry of next-generation chips, geometry no one else can see.

We were founded by two former ASML professionals with deep expertise in short wavelength metrology, and we're now scaling to bring that technology to market.

We're a small team, but the depth of knowledge inside Invisix is anything but small. Our culture is professional and fast-paced, with short communication lines and a strong sense of shared purpose. Everyone here is committed, and everyone knows their work directly contributes to something bigger.

The Role

We're looking for a Software Architect to take full technical ownership of a sophisticated, multi-layered software platform. This is advanced work spanning high-performance computing, physics-based algorithms, and complex metrology systems.

You'll own the technical direction of our inference software platform, connecting multiple teams across the full stack. This is not a people-management role. It's a technical lead role, driving architecture and decisions directly, with hands-on involvement at any level of the stack when it matters.

As the product scales, the team will grow around this role, giving you real opportunity to shape how the department develops over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain software architecture across the full stack, so every subsystem integrates into a scalable, coherent platform

• Coordinate technical work across internal and external development teams, aligning scope, deliverables, and timelines with the architecture roadmap

• Oversee high-performance computing solutions that process large-scale, complex metrology data

• Guide algorithm speed optimization for measurement data interpretation, using our high-performance computing infrastructure

• Set clear technical agreements with external development partners on deliverables and qualification, keeping them aligned with the overall architecture

• Get hands-on with challenging issues at any level of the stack when it's needed

Is this you?

• Strong, proven expertise in software engineering and architecture, ideally in an environment where software engineering, physics, applied mathematics, and computer science intersect

• 7 to 10 years of professional software development experience with architectural responsibility

• 3 to 5 years as technical lead for a team or complex software project, driving technical direction and decisions. This is not a people-management role

• Strong, equally proficient programming skills in Python and C/C++ (or a comparable systems language), including experience profiling and optimizing performance-critical code

Nice to have, but not required:

• PhD in computer science, physics, applied mathematics, or computational science

• Familiarity with C#

• Experience with high-performance computing, parallel processing, or large-scale data processing

• Background in semiconductor physics, metrology, or measurement technologies

• Experience with algorithm development, mathematical modeling, inverse problems, or computational physics

• Experience with physics-informed machine learning or deep neural networks applied to physical systems

What We Offer

• A role at the heart of Invisix's technology, with full ownership of how our software platform is built

• Competitive salary and benefits, including an Employee Share Ownership Plan

• A learning and development budget to support your growth

• Flexible working arrangements, and real autonomy over how you get the work done

The Selection Process

1. Introductory call with HR

2. Technical interview with one of our senior metrology engineers

3. Final interview with our CEO or CTO
