Senior Solutions Architect

Senior Solutions Engineer

Location: Johannesburg

About Our Client

Our client is a fast-growing African technology company solving one of the most consequential problems in the region's digital economy, remotely, at scale and across infrastructure that is inconsistent and high stakes. Their platform is trusted by some of the continent's most demanding institutions precisely because it works.

The Mandate

Be the technical authority in every client engagement. Win the technical sale, own the integration, and hold the relationship from the first demo through to a live, expanding deployment and beyond. Keep clients technically healthy, operationally resilient and growing. Above all, this role exists to win the technical sale and deliver integrations to a live, stable standard.

The Role

The Senior Solutions Engineer is a senior technical presence in the client relationship. You will own the full lifecycle, from the first technical discovery call through proof of concept, integration design and live deployment, to ongoing technical account management. You will be the reason clients say yes, the reason integrations go live on schedule, and the reason deployments expand.

The role reports to the Head of Customer Success, because its primary accountability is ensuring clients realise value throughout their lifecycle, from onboarding and implementation to adoption, retention and expansion. What you learn in the field will shape how the business sells, supports and builds.

It calls for deep technical credibility in API and SDK driven environments, sharp commercial instinct, and the communication range to move between a client's security architect and their CFO in the same meeting. Experience in digital identity, KYC, fintech or highly regulated B2B technology environments is a strong advantage.

What You Will Own

Pre-Sales Technical Leadership

• Own the pre-sales technical outcome end to end, from the first technical call through solution design and proof of concept execution to technical sign-off.
• Ensure enterprise prospects leave every engagement technically convinced: integration fit is clear, compliance concerns are resolved, and the path to contract is defined.
• Scope proofs of concept to answer the right question, and execute them to a standard that accelerates purchase decisions.
• Feed learnings back to internal teams so that the product's technical differentiation stays sharp, well articulated and consistently credible against the competition.
• Use AI tools to answer RFPs, RFIs and security questionnaires with the precision and commercial awareness that move deals forward.

Solution Design and Integration Architecture

• Ensure integration proposals are technically credible before a contract is signed.
• Validate that proposed solutions are feasible and commercially deliverable within deal timelines, identifying and mitigating integration risks early.
• Lead the handover from pre-sales to implementation, carrying full context and ensuring client confidence is not disrupted by the transition.

Technical Delivery and Client Onboarding

• Be the authority on integrating all product SDKs, APIs and solutions.
• Use AI tools to simulate integration environments and challenge product and engineering assets, creating a continuous competitive advantage through ease of integration.
• Innovate and upgrade demos, integration documentation and approach by finding the path of least resistance to integration.
• Ensure new clients go live on schedule and to a standard that sets up expansion, not remediation.
• Proactively manage platform performance risks in every live deployment, surfacing issues such as throughput requirements internally before they become production problems.
• Partner with Product and Engineering on a consistent technical feedback loop, so that learnings from integration, experimentation and observation become improvements across the board.

Client Technical Relationships and Account Health

• Actively drive the technical health of strategic accounts after deployment, rather than passively monitoring it.
• Be a trusted senior adviser to client technical leads, architects, engineers and security teams.
• Support clients through product changes, new features and regulatory shifts, ensuring disruptions are anticipated and managed.

Commercial and Strategic Intelligence

• Translate field intelligence into actionable insights for the commercial team and product leadership, so that win and loss patterns shape sales strategy and client and market feedback informs the product roadmap.
• Own the tracking, reporting and interpretation of pipeline metrics, including proof of concept conversion rates, time to technical win and deal support coverage.
• Act as a trusted senior technical ambassador when partnering with the Head of Enterprise Sales or Senior Client Manager.

Where You Will Partner

These areas need meaningful technical input from this role but are shared mandates rather than sole ownership:

• Head of Enterprise Sales: the commercial lead on all enterprise deals; you own the technical outcome that makes the deal possible.
• Senior Client Manager: owns the commercial client relationship after the sale; you provide the technical health picture that makes renewals and expansion defensible.
• Technical collateral and documentation: you are a primary contributor, with publication and maintenance shared with Product and Marketing.
• Developer documentation and API guides: shaped jointly with the Product and Engineering teams.
• Product roadmap input: the field intelligence this role generates is among the most valuable inputs the product team receives, and is shared in a structured way rather than ad hoc.

What We Are Looking For

Experience and Qualifications

• 6 to 8+ years in solutions engineering, pre-sales technical consulting or technical implementation in enterprise B2B technology.
• An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field; an Honours degree is advantageous. Equivalent practical experience in a technically complex enterprise B2B environment will be considered where a formal qualification is not held.
• Real ownership of both the pre-sales and post-sales technical relationship: not just demos, but live deployments and the client relationship that spans them.
• A proven track record of building trusted technical relationships with enterprise clients at architect and C-suite level.
• A background in at least one of: digital identity, KYC/AML, fintech or regtech, cybersecurity, identity and access management, or enterprise SaaS.
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, telecoms or government is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

• Deep fluency in API and SDK driven integration, with the ability to design, troubleshoot and deliver across REST APIs, mobile SDKs (iOS and Android) and web delivery independently.
• Enough strength across cloud, observability and data tooling to diagnose live client issues independently, following a request across services and reasoning about failure modes.
• Data and scripting capability to answer client questions about session outcomes, throughput and error patterns without relying on engineering.
• Code literacy across the relevant stack to support client integration teams effectively.
• Sound working knowledge of enterprise security and privacy requirements, including POPIA, GDPR, FICA and ISO 27001, and how they shape integration design in regulated environments.
• Strong, practical use of AI tools to accelerate pre-sales content, troubleshooting, demo apps and documentation, and the ability to articulate their value credibly to clients.

Why Join

As Senior Solutions Engineer, you will be the person who makes the technology real for clients. You will work on complex, technically sophisticated deployments, with direct access to the product and engineering team that builds the platform, and your work will have a visible impact on deals, on deployments and on the product itself.

What's on Offer

• Exclusive access to preferential financial benefits, including competitive rates on home loans, vehicle finance and personal loans.
• A competitive compensation package designed to reward impact.
• Enhanced family responsibility leave.
• Annual leave entitlement that grows with your tenure.
• A remote-first culture, with a preference for Johannesburg based candidates.
• A technically excellent, mission-driven team working at the frontier of its field.
