Toast is driven by building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt, take control, and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love.
About the role
Toast IQ Grow combines intelligent marketing tools with dedicated expert support to help restaurants reach more guests, bring them back, and grow sales. The Marketing Tools team builds the campaign products underlying Toast IQ Grow - one of the fastest-growing products in Toast's history. Every campaign created by a restaurant, a Toast marketing specialist or the Toast IQ Marketing Agent uses what this team builds.
Our purpose is simple:
- Build AI-powered marketing automation that drives orders and revenue for restaurants
- Give users the advanced tools they need to run best-in-class marketing programs
- Maintain a platform that scales seamlessly with billions of messages going out a year
We operate like a startup within Toast: fast-moving, customer-obsessed, and relentlessly focused on impact and results.
What you’ll do
This role is an incredible opportunity for a product leader who wants to shape how restaurants market in an AI-first world, on a platform that already sends billions of messages. Responsibilities include:
- Marketing automation: Lead the vision, strategy and roadmap for Toast's marketing experiences across email, SMS and social. Partner with our CRM team and own the marketing use cases that move restaurants from one-off sends to always-on campaigns that run themselves.
- Advanced tooling: Build the power-user layer for Toast's marketing specialists, multi-location brands, and sophisticated operators, including bulk and multi-location workflows, advanced scheduling and segmentation. Keep the core experience simple for everyone else.
- AI: Partner with the Toast IQ Marketing Agent team so that AI-generated campaigns are easy to review, edit, approve, and trust. Find where AI can remove work across the campaign lifecycle.
- Metrics: Own outcomes for your area, acting as the GM of the product space. You'll be accountable for campaigns sent, attributed revenue and marketing specialist efficiency.
- Teamwork: Work closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales to define and deliver high-impact features.
- Customer empathy: Drive deep understanding through interviews, testing, analytics and insights, so we solve real problems for restaurants and the specialists who support them.
What we’re looking for
You love solving complex problems and embrace an iterative mindset. You are grounded in customer feedback and cross-functional partnership, and you can turn customer needs and product vision into world-class experiences. The ideal candidate has:
- 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of driving strategy, execution, and impact for B2B products
- Experience building platform products at scale, ideally in SaaS martech (email, SMS, push, or social)
- Experience building for both power users and novice users, and the judgment to know when to add flexibility and when to simplify
- Hands-on curiosity about AI and agentic products, and active use of AI tools in your own work
- Strong ability to turn data into actionable insights and customer outcomes
- Proven ability to influence across teams and drive alignment in ambiguous, high-impact spaces
