Senior Product Manager (f/m/d)

About us

Zenjob is an AI-powered flexible staffing platform that has connected companies and temporary workers since 2015. Companies use our platform to book ready-to-work staff in real time, while students use our app - we call them Zenjobbers - to find part-time jobs that conveniently fit around their studies. Over 40,000 Zenjobbers and 1,000 partner companies from logistics, retail, and hospitality in all major German cities share our belief that good work is not a coincidence. It is the result of innovative technology and genuine commitment. Good work starts here.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in defining and executing a product vision that ensures Zenjob’s marketplace dynamics are well balanced, by optimizing our demand forecast, making sure jobs and Zenjobbers are matched optimally, and engaging students in working a high number of shifts.

This is not a role that owns one squad's backlog. You'll work project-based: form a team around a problem, own it end-to-end until it delivers on the expected need. You'll get problem statements, not requirements documents. Recent examples: how shifts get allocated across thousands of Zenjobbers each week, and how we get a new Zenjobber from signup to their first shift without human intervention.

This role suits a Product Manager who is energised by an open-ended problem, and who finds complex workflows genuinely interesting. You'll report to the Director of Product and work across our Supply, Demand and Staffing squads, depending on the problem to solve.

What You’ll do

• Bring our business goals to reality. Understand our financial goals, our users' problems and transform them into solutions that drive our revenue up.

• Talk to users directly. Zenjobbers, clients, and our own internal teams. Most of the good opportunities come out of these conversations, not out of a backlog.

• Do your own data work. You don’t wait until a data analyst gives you the insights, you dive into it and derive them yourself.

• Turn ambiguity into a defensible plan. Take a problem nobody agrees on yet, and define what we're solving, what we're explicitly not solving, and in what order.

• Design and run tests. Form a hypothesis, define what would falsify it, ship the smallest thing that gives you a real answer, and be honest about the result.

• Drive product development from concept to launch. Pull together Engineering, Design, Ops and Commercial around a problem and keep them moving through hypothesis, building, rollout and post-launch decision making

• Own the outcome, not the output. Each project has a number attached. You define what success looks like up front, and you're the one who says whether it was hit.

• Communicate clearly. A one-page memo an exec can act on. A spec an engineer doesn't have to interpret. A tradeoff explained to Commercial in terms they care about.

What we’re looking for

• 6+ years in product, with meaningful time on products where the software coordinates real-world processes - staffing, logistics, fintech ops, healthcare, or similar, with substantial business impact. You have experience in marketplace dynamics and allocation problems.

• You've shipped something complex end-to-end and can talk credibly about what broke, not just what launched.

• You're analytically strong - comfortable getting to an answer yourself rather than commissioning one, and having a fluent conversation with data scientists.

• You've moved teams you don't manage. Cross-functional influence without formal authority is most of this job.

• You write and speak clearly. This is the strongest single signal we look for, because in a cross-team role, clear communication is most of how work actually moves.

• AI is already part of how you work, and you can say specifically where it helps and where it doesn't, and you are already able to ship small features with little to no help from Engineers

• English fluency. German is a big plus.

What we offer

• Real ownership of problems that visibly move the business - not a slice of someone else's roadmap.

• Innovative mission: Together we create something new. Work in a dynamic set-up where you learn a lot and your every idea is heard.

• Unique team spirit: We can rely on each other blindly and celebrate all successes together as a team.

• Vacation: Recreation and further education is important, which is why we offer 28 days of paid vacation (increased by 1 day for every 2 calendar years of service with us, up to a maximum of 30 days), 1 day of special leave for community service, 5 days of paid educational leave, and the possibility of unpaid leave

• Hybrid working model: We love our brand new office in Prenzlauer Berg. But sometimes you need a little more flexibility. Zenjob’s flexible working model combines the best of both worlds, so you can work remotely up to 2 days / week (1 day, during the first 6 months, so we can guarantee you the best onboarding).

• Dog-lover: If you have a dog, feel free to bring it with you. We don’t bite and always have a bowl of water in our range of drinks

• Personal growth: Ongoing focus on your personal development (annual training budget of EUR 750, mentoring opportunities, constant career development conversations)

• Healthy mind in a healthy body: With us you will receive a 30 EUR Urban Sports Club grant to keep you fit. In addition, we have a small sports room in the office ourselves.

• Always mobile: You will receive EUR 40 credit per month for NAVIT, a sustainable mobility tool for public transport, bike sharing and much more.

• Legendary Events: Quarterly team events, winter and summer parties, budget for birthdays and anniversaries of our employees

If this sounds good, then we’d love to find out more about you! Apply and send in your application.
