Risk Portafolio Manager (Europe Only)

At R2, we believe that small and medium businesses are the productive engine of society. Small and medium businesses (SMBs) make up over 90% of companies in Latin America, yet they face a trillion-dollar credit gap. Our mission is to unlock SMBs’ potential by providing financial solutions tailored to their needs. We are reimagining the financial infrastructure of Latin America, where SMBs’ financial needs are met without ever having to go to a bank.

R2 enables platforms across Latin America to embed financial services that SMBs can leverage, starting with revenue-based financing. We are a high-performing, close-knit team with talent from organizations such as Google, Amazon, Nubank, Uber, Capital One, Mercado Libre, Globant, and J.P. Morgan.

We are entering a new phase of growth following a strategic investment from Ant International, focused on rapidly expanding our partner footprint, strengthening our credit and underwriting capabilities, and scaling operations across multiple markets. As part of this growth journey, eligible team members have the opportunity to participate in R2’s Phantom Share Program, a performance-based incentive designed to align our team with the company’s long-term success and value creation. We believe in building a culture of ownership, where those who help create value share meaningfully in it.

R2 is scaling quickly, and we're looking for a Portfolio Manager (IC4) to own the credit portfolio: someone who builds a genuinely quantitative relationship with the business, tracks portfolio performance end-to-end, and can evaluate high-ticket merchant credit. We need someone who deeply understands portfolio economics, can pull and structure the data themselves, and knows how to read a portfolio and turn it into decisions. Mitigate risks and detect patterns in larger datasets.

What You'll Do

• Own monitoring the credit portfolio: vintages, losses, originations, NPL by cohort, and profitability.
• Evaluate and underwrite high-ticket merchant credit facilities (tickets of USD 100K–200K and above), at scale- not one loan at a time.
• Define and track business metrics: loss, yield/profitability, portfolio construction and health.
• Work hands-on in SQL to extract, structure, and analyze portfolio data independently.
• Apply statistical reasoning to portfolio questions.
• Partner closely with the business team and handle a degree of client interaction.
• Generate findings and transform them into presentations for a larger audience
• Automate monitoring KPIs of this portfolio

Who You Are

• ~7 years of experience in credit, lending, credit risk, business analytics, or lending institution
• Background in a fintech, payment processor, POS provider, or bank, credit risk — real lending/credit exposure is essential.
• Hands-on underwriting experience, ideally with large/high-ticket merchant credit, and the ability to work at scale (mass evaluation, not manual case-by-case).
• Strong data analysis SQL and or Python — this is the core technical requirement.
• Statistical / data literacy — you don't need to build models, but you should be comfortable with the fundamentals of statistics and data analysis and model interpretation.
• Comfort using AI tools is a plus. What matters most is that you know the material — whether you get there with or without AI is up to you.
• Cultural fit: we move fast. We want someone who thrives in a dynamic, startup-style environment. Prior experience working with US or LatAm teams (across time zones and cultures) is a strong plus.

Bonus

• Corporate / B2B cards count. Cards are a credit product; someone who has underwritten corporate cards with high limits (e.g., USD 1M+) has relevant experience.
• Traditional/corporate backgrounds (including large banks) are welcome, provided the credit/lending experience and cultural fit are there.

What We Offer

• The chance to join a high-impact, mission-driven fintech.
• Ownership and impact in a fast-paced, growth-oriented startup.
• Cross-functional collaboration with exceptional teams.
• Exposure to complex regulatory challenges and innovation in embedded finance.

Locations: Netherlands. Candidates based in Europe may also be considered.
