CORE PURPOSE

The Project Manager - Qualitative is a hands-on delivery role responsible for running qualitative research projects end-to-end — from kick-off through recruitment, fieldwork, and analysis to final delivery. Reporting to the Head of Operations - Qualitative, they own the day-to-day management of an allocated portfolio of projects, keeping engagements on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality. The role coordinates internal researchers and external suppliers, serves as a reliable day-to-day client contact, and escalates risks and complex decisions to the Head of Operations early. Success in the role is measured by on-time delivery, project margin, methodological quality, and client satisfaction across the portfolio.

ABOUT THE ROLE

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of an allocated portfolio of qualitative projects — from kick-off through recruitment, fieldwork, moderation support, reviewing project data, and reporting — keeping each project on time, on budget, and to specification
• Coordinate projects across the full qual toolkit (in-depth interviews, focus groups, ethnography, online communities, digital qual platforms, hybrid qual-quant), regularly communicating (with internal & external stakeholders) on delivery logistics and execution
• Build and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets; track progress against milestones and proactively flag risks or slippage to the Head of Operations
• Own project margin and on-time delivery across the portfolio; monitor costs against scope and escalate variations or scope changes early
• Quality-check key project deliverables — recruitment screeners, stimulus, fieldwork schedules, and status reports — coordinating inputs from clients and suppliers
• Serve as a day-to-day client contact on assigned projects; manage expectations, provide clear status updates, and maintain trusted working relationships
• Regular project updates to clients and internal sales contacts flagging concerns upfront and providing sampling strategies for hard to achieve targets
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation in Salesforce and other systems; ensure compliance with ISO requirements, Fair Data Principles, and internal best practice
• Identify and suggest improvements to qual delivery processes, templates, and tooling, supporting the Head of Operations on their roll-out
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture — sharing knowledge with peers and supporting more junior team members and recruiters where needed
