About the role
Ready to accelerate your career?
Cardata is where driven people make an outsized impact. We’re a small but mighty team transforming how businesses manage vehicle reimbursement — replacing outdated programs with smart, automated solutions.
Our vision is bold: to provide the most comprehensive, intelligent, and automated software and services for creating ideal vehicle programs. And we’re building toward that vision every single day.
Join us and you’ll find challenge, growth, and the chance to deliver real impact — helping hundreds of companies and thousands of drivers across North America focus on the work that matters most to them.
We’re looking for a Product Manager to play a critical role in shaping, building, and scaling our B2B SaaS platform. This role blends hands-on product execution with strategic product leadership. You’ll spend meaningful time acting as a product owner—writing stories, curating backlogs, and running refinements—while also owning customer discovery, competitive intelligence, and product strategy as part of our Product team.
This role reports directly to the VP of Product and works closely with Engineering, Design, Customer Success, Sales, Support, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
What You'll Be Doing
Product Strategy & Discovery
- Align customer needs, business objectives, and technical constraints as part of our product strategy.
- Conduct regular customer and user research through interviews, feedback analysis, and usage data.
- Navigate multi-persona product experiences for complex B2B customers.
- Perform competitive and market intelligence to inform roadmap decisions and positioning.
- Translate company-level strategy into clear product initiatives and outcomes.
Product Execution (Product Owner Responsibilities)
- Own and prioritize the product backlog in close partnership with Engineering.
- Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Lead backlog grooming and sprint refinement sessions.
- Collaborate daily with Engineering and Design to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Make pragmatic tradeoffs between scope, speed, and quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Customer Success, Support, Sales, and Marketing.
- Act as a clear, credible product voice with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support go-to-market efforts by aligning roadmap priorities with customer and revenue needs.
- Communicate plans, progress, and tradeoffs effectively to leadership.
What You'll Bring
Required Experience
- 2-5 years of Product Management experience in B2B SaaS environments.
- Experience building multi-persona B2B products with complex workflows.
- Strong experience balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Experience acting as a Product Owner within Agile/Scrum teams.
- Strong technical fluency (APIs, system concepts, tradeoffs—even if you don’t code).
- Solid understanding of UX and design principles; comfortable collaborating deeply with designers.
- Strong business acumen and ability to tie product decisions to revenue, retention, and growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable.
Nice to Have
- Proven success helping scale products or companies from roughly $10M to $100M ARR (or similar growth stages).
- Experience with B2C or consumer-grade product experiences.
- Experience working closely with Support or Operations teams.
- Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy industries.
- Experience building internal tooling or platform-style products.
Why this role is Compelling
- High influence over product direction.
- Direct partnership with senior leadership.
- Opportunity to shape both the product as the company scales.
- Meaningful exposure to customers, strategy, and execution—not just one slice of product work.
- A team culture that values collaboration, clarity, and doing the right thing for customers.
Compensation
In line with Ontario’s Pay Transparency legislation, the expected base compensation for this role is $130,000–$155,000 CAD annually with actual earnings dependent on experience, skills, and performance. This is a vacant position, and we are hiring with intention and seeking someone who will bring new perspective, contribute meaningfully to the team, and grow with the organization.
