People & Workplace Experience Manager

Work is being rewritten, and the people holding the pen are the ones who actually run it.

With enterprise-grade governance, flexible model choice, and a collaborative interface for humans and agents to work together, Dust empowers AI Operators at the world’s fastest-moving companies to rewire how work gets done.

With 70%+ weekly active users, people stick with Dust as much as they do with Slack and Notion. We don't get piloted and shelved. We land once, and spread. We're at an exciting stage of our journey, and growing fast.

We're serving great customers like Datadog, 1Password, Cursor, Clay, Vanta and Persona, and aim to x5 our growth by the end of 2026.

Dust is backed by Sequoia with a determined team of optimists (coming from Stripe, OpenAI, and Stanford) who like to focus on users, ship fast, and don't take themselves too seriously while doing so. The Generalist named us among the Future 50.

The role

Dust is growing fast, and we want every person who joins us to feel welcome, supported, connected and able to do their best work. As our People Experience Manager, you'll shape how people experience Dust, from their first day and the moments that bring us together to the way our offices in Paris, London, New York and San Francisco support the team.

We're looking for someone who is operationally excellent and creatively ambitious. You'll handle the details carefully, and you'll also look for ways to make the employee experience much better. One day you might be redesigning part of onboarding, the next planning a company offsite, acting on survey feedback, or working with a site lead to improve one of our offices.

This role works as a partner across the company. You'll work most closely with People Operations, who lead on the core people processes. Together, you'll make sure the employee experience is well run behind the scenes and thoughtful in how people actually experience it. In Paris, you'll also work closely with our Office Manager, who runs our HQ on site and leads much of our day-to-day office life and events. In London, New York and San Francisco, you'll coordinate with local site leads. You'll also work with IT, Finance, Legal, Marketing, leadership and outside partners. Your guiding principle: consistency where it matters, local adaptation where it creates a better experience.

What you will do:

Own the employee journey

• Own the onboarding experience end to end, working closely with our People Ops Specialist, from pre-boarding and equipment to first-day logistics and the first few weeks, so new joiners can contribute from day one in every location.

• Work with People Ops, IT, Finance, hiring managers, our Paris Office Manager and site leads so every handoff in the employee journey is smooth.

• Partner with People Ops and IT on offboarding, so people leave with the same care they got when they joined.

• Be a trusted point of contact for everyday employee questions and needs, and know when to bring in People Ops.

Build culture and community

• Run and improve our team rituals, including weekly lunches, team drinks, dinners and company gatherings.

• Organise one or two company offsites or retreats each year.

• Create moments that help people connect, celebrate progress and feel they belong, across offices and time zones.

• Pay attention to the details that make experiences feel personal and inclusive, such as dietary needs, accessibility, preferences and team milestones.

• Partner with People and Marketing on selected external and brand-building events.

Listen and turn feedback into action

• Build feedback loops (surveys, conversations, informal check-ins) to understand how people experience Dust.

• Turn what people tell us into concrete recommendations and visible improvements.

• Define and track simple, useful measures of employee and workplace experience.

• Communicate clearly and consistently about updates, events, practical information and team norms. Be assertive when needed.

Shape our workplaces

• Make sure our offices are safe, welcoming, functional and ergonomic, and that they reflect how we want people to feel at Dust.

• Work with our office manager on day-to-day operations: supplies, maintenance, access, equipment and services.

• Manage workplace vendors, contracts and budget, and look for efficient ways to improve the experience.

• Spot operational needs early and fix issues before they disrupt anyone.

Scale the experience as Dust grows

• Help shape how our physical, hybrid and digital environments evolve as the company grows.

• Set up simple, scalable processes and clear ownership across People, IT, Finance and Legal topics.

• Keep the employee experience personal and high quality without making it bureaucratic.

What success looks like

After your first 100 days, you will have:

• Built a smooth, consistent onboarding experience for every new joiner, in every location.

• Delivered team rituals, events and offsites that strengthen connection and culture.

• Set up feedback loops and a practical set of metrics that guide People Experience decisions.

• Created well-run, welcoming offices where operational issues are handled quickly and proactively.

• Established clear processes and ownership across People, workplace, IT, Finance and Legal.

• Helped Dust grow its employee experience without it becoming bureaucratic or impersonal.

What we are looking for

• 4+ years of experience in People Operations, People Experience, Workplace Experience in a fast growing, globally distributed environment

• A proactive generalist who can handle many kinds of work at once without losing sight of the bigger picture.

• Real ideas, sound judgement and the confidence to improve how things work today.

• Strong operational ownership, project management skills and attention to detail.

• Warmth, empathy and a genuine interest in helping people feel comfortable and connected.

• Clear, direct, thoughtful communication, and discretion with sensitive situations.

• Confidence working with vendors, budgets and outside partners.

• The ability to build simple processes that scale, and to keep a high bar for quality while staying pragmatic.

• Comfort with a fast-moving environment where priorities can change, working on your own while collaborating across the company.

We're prioritizing building our team with an in-person culture at our offices in Paris, London, San Francisco, and New York because we value the magic that happens when talented people work closely together.

We have an office-first culture. Some of the best things about building at Dust are the energy, the fast decisions, and the unexpected conversations that unlock a hard problem, which happen because we are in the same room. Being together is not a formality, it is how we do our best work, and it is something we actively protect.

That said, we hire people with strong judgement and we extend that trust to how they manage their time. When working from home makes more sense for what you need to get done that day, we trust you to make that call.

The models are powerful enough. What's missing is the product layer where AI meets how companies actually work. That's what we're building: the infrastructure that lets any team turn scattered knowledge and tools into coordinated execution with agents they build, own, and run themselves.

We use Dust ourselves every day. We get to shape how humans and agents collaborate while solving our own problems with the product we ship. That loop is rare, and it's why we move fast.

If you're excited about defining a new category and want to join a determined team of optimists who focus on users, ship fast, and don't take themselves too seriously, we'd love to talk.

Even if you don't check every box in our requirements, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and we're more interested in your potential and passion than a perfect match to our checklist.
