We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions
We are looking for motivated Software Engineers to join our team building core middleware components and services for Applied's software-defined vehicle (SDV) platform. Whether you're an experienced engineer with deep systems knowledge or someone earlier in your career with strong fundamentals and a drive to learn, we want to hear from you.
You'll work on challenging problems in distributed systems, high-speed networking, and vehicle communication — building the foundational software layers that make advanced vehicle functions possible. Parts of this work touch the ADAS development stack, where data logging and recording play an important supporting role.
Design and implement core platform services in C++, with a focus on multi-threading, concurrency, and performance.
Develop and extend communication middleware using protocols such as SOME/IP or DDS across the platform.
Work on system-level software within an SDV architecture, spanning functional areas such as Communication Management, Execution Management, State Management, Health Management, Diagnostics, and Logging.
Apply knowledge of networking and the Ethernet stack to ensure reliable, high-throughput data exchange.
Support data logging and recording workflows for sensor data used in ADAS development and validation.
Solid C++ skills, including familiarity with multi-threading, concurrency patterns, and software design.
2+ years of software engineering experience — background in embedded, automotive, robotics, or distributed systems is a plus.
Some exposure to communication middleware (e.g., SOME/IP, DDS, or similar), or a strong desire to build that expertise on the job.
The initiative to take ownership of technical problems in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with AUTOSAR Adaptive internals or specific functional clusters (e.g., Communication Management, Execution Management, Diagnostics, Health Management).
Experience with embedded systems or C programming.
Advanced IPC experience using Protobuf or gRPC.
Strong familiarity with POSIX/Linux (system calls, runtime behavior, memory management).
Experience in real-time or safety-critical distributed systems.
Familiarity with data logging frameworks or recording infrastructure in an automotive or ADAS context.
Prior customer-facing experience as a customer or application engineer.
30 days of paid vacation per year
Daily meal benefits: €19 lunch budget and €19 dinner budget, free breakfast, snacks, and drinks in the office
You’ll receive €965 annual learning & development and €580 annual fitness budget
Subsidized Wellpass membership, giving you access to thousands of gyms, studios, and wellness facilities across Germany
€25 monthly contribution to your Deutschlandticket for regional public transport across Germany
Generous parental leave: on top of statutory parental leave
