Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.
As part of Thales Australia, Australian Munitions is the largest supplier of explosive ordnance to the Australian Defence Force, with a successful track record delivering ammunition, propellants, explosives and related services including acid production and industrial waste treatment to Defence and commercial markets. The laboratory at Mulwala is responsible for the quality control and testing of the propellant and high explosives produced at the site.
The Laboratory Technical Assistant is responsible for performing routine testing and analysis on raw materials, propellant and high explosives to the required specifications. Responsible for the quality of their own work.
