About the role
We’re looking for an experienced kitchen chef who is familiar with Slavic cuisine (Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, etc.) to join us at Bar Bez Mleczny on Kungsgatan in central Gothenburg. This is a part-time role including afternoon and evening shifts. The role focuses on preparation before opening, à la carte cooking and plating.
About us
Bar Bez Mleczny opened in March 2026 and offers plant‑based comfort food inspired by Polish and Russian home cooking – pierogi, soups, and classic dishes made modern. Production happens in our prep kitchen, while service runs in the café and at events.
About the role
You’ll be responsible for the service flow in the kitchen, from prep before opening to clean‑down after closing. You should be comfortable working independently, keeping the kitchen organised, and maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.
Job duties
- Prepare and cook dishes during service (pierogi, soups, salads, sides, crepes)
- Do pre‑opening prep such as salads, mashed potatoes, portioning, etc
- Set up the kitchen for service
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation across all dishes
- Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and correct labelling throughout the shift
- Keep the kitchen organized after service and prepared for the morning shift
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a cook or chef in a restaurant/service kitchen
- Hands‑on experience with Slavic cuisine is beneficial (e.g. pierogi/vareniki, borscht, zupa ogórkowa, blini, kotlety, salads, etc.)
- Comfortable taking responsibility for the kitchen during service and making practical decisions
- At least B2 English level (we are an international company)
- Swedish is an advantage
- Polish, Russian, or Ukrainian is a strong plus
- Valid B driver’s license is a strong advantage
Nice to have (but not required)
- Knowledge of vegan or vegetarian cuisine
- Experience with batch‑style prep or working closely with a production kitchen
We offer
- Part-time position (15-20 hours/weekly) in a growing vegan food concept
- Opportunity to shape how evening service runs in a small, creative team
- Market‑typical salary
- 4000 SEK/year wellness allowance
