Junior Product Designer - UI/UX

You turn complex manufacturing data into interfaces factory teams rely on every day, working side by side with our engineers.

Ethon was built to eliminate the trillion-dollar waste problem in manufacturing. We are the technology leader in Industrial AI, building agentic workflows that help manufacturers optimize cost, quality, and speed of production. We are a fast-growing team driving massive impact in one of the largest and most under-served industries in the world.

We serve the world's top manufacturers across the globe. From Siemens and Bosch to Lindt and Roche, our customers trust us to make their factories run better. We are backed by leading investors like Index Ventures, General Catalyst, and Earlybird. Our team draws from Google, Meta, Palantir, MBB, and top manufacturing companies, all here for the same reason: giving manufacturers the technology to run every factory at unprecedented productivity.

WHAT IS THIS JOB ABOUT?

You’ll join our small design team and work directly with our engineers. At first you’ll focus on UI: building screens, components and flows for our platform, and helping our design system grow. Over time you’ll take on larger parts of the product end to end.

This is what you’ll do:

• Turn flows and concepts into detailed production-ready screens.

• Create and maintain components in Figma, keep them in sync with what’s in code, and notice when patterns start to drift.

• Pair with developers, review builds, and make quick trade-offs when something doesn’t fit the sprint. Your designs ship; you don’t just hand off Figma files.

• When a shortcut hurts the experience, you say so, explain why, and propose an alternative. And you know when good enough is good enough.

• Join customer calls and factory visits, test ideas with our forward deployed engineers, and bring what you learn back into the product.

• Help where a startup needs it: website updates, sales decks and marketing visuals now and then.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

First and foremost, we believe in curious people who are eager to learn and grow. If you're passionate about cutting-edge tech and driving major impact in manufacturing, we want to hear from you.

You don’t need to have done it all. We can teach you manufacturing, our product, and a lot about designing complex B2B software. We can’t teach you to care about the details, or to be curious about how things work.

Must-haves:

• You’re fluent in English and comfortable with changing priorities. You know when to be scrappy and when to be thorough.

• You have 1–3 years of professional experience designing digital products. Internships and working-student roles count if you shipped real work.

• You have strong UI craft and have hands-on experience with a design system.

• You’re fluent in Figma (components, variants, auto layout, variables) and comfortable using AI tools for quick iterations and prototypes.

• You enjoy working closely with developers and understand enough about frontend to design things that can be built.

• You can explain and stand behind your design decisions, and you change your mind when someone has a better argument.

• You’re curious about users, technology and how things get made, and you actively look for feedback so you can grow.

Bonus:

• Experience with B2B SaaS, dashboards or data-heavy products

WHY IS ETHON RIGHT FOR YOU?

We work from our office in the center of Zürich. You will be here three days a week, because the hardest problems get solved in person.

You’ll work alongside two senior designers, get regular design critiques, and sit close to the engineers who build what you design. Feedback loops are short, access to founders is direct.

Additionally, we offer:

• Performance-based career & growth paths

• On-site work with significant scope for flexible schedules

• Competitive compensation including stock options giving you a stake in Ethon's long-term success

• Vacation bonus if you take two consecutive weeks of vacation

• Flexible parental leave

• Learning budget for courses, conferences, and coaching

If this sounds like your kind of work, we would like to meet you.

We're committed to building a team that reflects the diverse world we live in. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, and we especially welcome voices traditionally underrepresented in tech.

HOW TO APPLY

Send us your CV and a portfolio with 2–3 case studies, at least one showing detailed UI work. Tell us briefly what you did yourself and what the team did.

Our interview process includes a short design challenge during the on-site, so you can show us how you work.
