Job description: About this opportunityEricsson’s Early Career Program is an 18-month journey for you who are recently graduated or have up to five years of relevant experience. Through three rotations, including one international and market exposure, you will tackle challenges that matter, work alongside people who expect you to contribute, question, and move things forward.
The Innovate track is designed for you who are driven by building what’s next. You’ll rotate across Research, Product Development, Data, and AI contributing to solutions that don’t just support the business but move it forward.
This isn’t a programme where you sit on the sidelines. From day one, you’re hired into a role, trusted to contribute, supported to grow, and expected to make an impact. Find out more about the Early Career program here.
Your journey within the Innovate Program will start as ISAC Technical Coordinator at RAN Performance in Lund.
Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) turns mobile network infrastructure into a system that can both communicate and sense the physical world. By analyzing reflections from transmitted signals, network sites can detect and track moving objects over a wide area, with low-altitude drones as the first use case. ISAC brings together three areas that have not worked together before: the base station, the sensing function that turns faint reflections into detections, and the fusion function that determines whether detections from different sites belong to the same object. Experts know each area deeply, but the complete system is new. The three rotations are designed to help you build that broader understanding.
What you will do
Across three rotations, you’ll build the technical and customer understanding needed to connect ISAC’s base-station, sensing and fusion domains. In your first six months, you’ll contribute to live proof-of-concept and product work with a cross-functional team, supported by sponsors spanning several technical groups.
During your international rotation, you’ll work with ISAC customers in a Market Area and bring their needs back into the development process. Your final rotation will give you experience across system and project management, testing and delivery—showing how technical decisions become customer releases. You’ll then land as ISAC Technical Coordinator, connecting the gNB, sensing and fusion teams and translating customer requirements into development priorities.
You’ll also use AI hands-on, applying judgement to choose the right problems, check model outputs and know when not to rely on them. ISAC is an emerging field with no reference implementation to follow, so you’ll learn by tackling challenges that are still being worked out.
You will bring
- MSc or PhD in engineering physics, electrical engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, wireless communications or a related field.
- A solid foundation in mathematics, including probability, linear algebra and transforms, and an interest in applying it to signal problems.
- Practical programming experience in C, C++ or Python, ideally using real data to investigate or solve a problem.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools, and the ability to reflect on when they helped, when they fell short and what you learned.
- A global outlook and willingness to relocate for the international rotation.
- The confidence to share your perspective and ask thoughtful, sometimes challenging questions. You’ll work with specialists across different domains, and your curiosity will help connect their expertise.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with proficiency in English.
You do not need telecom experience, 3GPP knowledge, or a background in detection and tracking. Almost nobody arrives with one, and it is learned here. Much of this has not been done before by anyone, so what matters more is that you are comfortable working where the answer is not known yet. We can teach you the domain. We cannot teach you curiosity.
Pre-offer checks including references and relevant background screening will be conducted for final candidates.
