Events Specialist

We're looking for someone to run our international conference programme and exhibitions, as well as our own customer events and webinars. Full-time, permanent, UK-based, and fully remote.

Salary £30,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience).

Closing date: Sunday 8th November

Industry: Education and Software, with a focus on medical and health professional education.

Why this role exists

Our customers rely on the risr/ platform to deliver high-stakes and workplace-based assessments that really matter to institutions, professionals, and ultimately patient care.

Events are one of the main ways we meet leads and key decision-makers at organisations we want to work with, and stay close to the customers we have. In 2026, that means around 25 conferences and exhibitions across the UK, Europe, North America, and Australia; our own community days and customer events in each region; and a regular programme of webinars and user groups. Many of these are planned a year or more ahead.

This role exists to give every one of those events a single owner, from first booking to final report. Nothing slips, every deadline is met, and our go-to-market team can focus on conversations rather than logistics.

The role at a glance

As our Events Specialist, you’ll own the delivery of every risr/ event: international conferences and exhibitions, our own in-person community days and customer events, and our webinars and online events.

Our go-to-market team (marketing, business development and account management) decides which events we attend and what we want from them, and you make them happen. You’ll book the space, manage the suppliers, meet every exhibitor deadline, get the right people and materials to the right place, and report back on each event's costs and outcomes.

Most of the work is done remotely from the UK. You’ll attend some UK events in person, and occasionally travel overseas, to see how our events run on the ground and to understand the market and our competitors.

You might currently be an events manager, events executive or conference coordinator. What matters is that you’ve run events from start to finish.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Conferences and exhibitions

• Turn the go-to-market team’s event decisions into one clear, shared events calendar, planned far enough ahead to secure good space and rates.
• Book exhibition space, sponsorships, and memberships, and track the contracts, payment dates, and deadlines that come with them.
• Own the exhibitor portal for every event, ensuring insurance documents, risk assessments, company information, branding, and team registrations are submitted on time.
• Book stand furniture, power, AV and any other on-site services.
• Arrange shipping of stand kit and materials, including customs requirements for events outside the UK.
• Work with the regional marketing leads to order print and collateral, so the right materials arrive in the right place.
• Coordinate speaking slots with organisers, including abstracts, slide decks and speaker details, so submissions are made on time.
• Put together a detailed briefing on the event schedule, exhibit hours, contact details, the leads form link, and exhibitor and sponsor information in a team document, including clear goals and outcomes, and review it in a pre- and post-event call.
• Build strong relationships with event organisers, so we hear about opportunities early and maintain good terms on sponsorships.

risr/-hosted events

• Plan and deliver our in-person community days, customer lunches, workshops and showcases in each region, working with the regional marketing lead.
• Find, compare and book venues, and organise catering, AV and accessibility needs.
• Manage registrations, prepare attendee communications, and coordinate on-the-day logistics.
• Order and coordinate the print and delivery of event materials and services.
• Manage event resources and materials

Webinars and online events

• Set up and run logistics for webinars, user groups, and online events in Zoom, including registration, reminders, and recordings.
• Act as the main logistics contact for external speakers.
• Share registrant lists with the regional marketing lead for follow-up.

Planning, reporting and improvement

• Set up and manage each event as a project in monday.com, so everyone involved knows what’s due and when, and follow up on anything outstanding.
• Record the spend on every event in one place, so the team can see what each one costs.
• Run a short review after each major event: what it cost, who we met, what worked and what to change.
• Keep our event checklists, processes and supplier contacts written down and up to date, so every event gets easier to run.

What success looks like

• Every exhibitor deadline, portal submission and registration is met, without last-minute scrambles.
• The team arrives at every event with the stand, materials, bookings and briefing they need, and can focus on networking.
• Spend is recorded for every event, so the go-to-market team can compare what each event cost with what it delivered.
• Leads from every event are in the CRM within a week of the event closing.
• We complete a short review after every major event, and what we learn shapes the next one.
• The go-to-market team trusts that if an event is on the calendar, you'll handle it.

Who we are looking for

We’re more interested in how you think and work than ticking every box, but experience that will help you succeed includes:

Essential

• At least 3 years' experience organising events from start to finish, ideally as an exhibitor at conferences or exhibitions, not only as the host or venue.
• Excellent organisation, with the ability to manage many events at once, each at a different stage and with its own deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail. You spot missing forms before they become a problem.
• Confidence in building relationships with organisers, venues and suppliers, and with colleagues across different teams and time zones.
• A calm, structured approach to solving problems when plans change.
• Experience running webinars or online events in Zoom or a similar platform.
• The ability to communicate clearly and confidently in written and spoken English.
• The ability to work autonomously while collaborating openly with others.
• A curious, practical relationship with AI. You try things, keep what works, and build it into how you actually work.

Desirable

• Experience organising international events, including shipping, customs or travel logistics.
• Experience with B2B, SaaS, education or healthcare events.
• Experience with event registration or digital events platforms.
• Experience using tools such as monday.com, a CRM, or similar platforms.

About us

The risr/ mission is to provide technology to enable every ambition.

The risr/ platform enables doctors, dentists, nurses, and other health professionals to apply and pay for assessments, be assessed effectively, and advance through their courses and training programmes so they can ultimately provide high-quality patient care and promote health.

Our software and services help institutions, such as Awarding Bodies, Universities and Postgraduate Specialty Medical Colleges, achieve digital transformation of assessment processes, for example, written and practical exams and workplace-based assessments.

We are growing rapidly in international markets in Australia, Canada, Asia, Ireland and beyond. For example, over 60% of doctors in the UK are assessed using risr/ products.

What you can expect at risr/

We keep things brutally simple; we are natural-born collaborators; we’re hungry for innovation; and we always do the right thing - even if it’s harder or requires us to go the extra mile.

As we continue to grow, some business travel will be required to meet our customers in person and nurture strong, effective relationships.

Due to the nature of our work and having teams based in multiple time zones, there will be a requirement for the successful applicant to work outside of regular office hours, in the evening / early mornings or on the weekend. We take care to ensure team members are not required to do this regularly, and with our flexible working arrangements, our team manages their regular working time around any out-of-hours work that may be required.

Benefits

Our people enjoy a very high level of trust, autonomy, flexibility and transparency, including:

• Work from home, at a co-working space or set up an office near your home.
• Freedom to choose your equipment and training as you see fit.
• Freedom from corporate bureaucracy, which slows people down and stops them from giving their best.
• Access to open-book finances: everyone in the company knows our income, outgoings, what we have in the bank and everyone’s salary.
• A generous salary, benefits package (including enhanced parental leave policies based on length of service) and participation in profit share.
• A Health and Wellbeing Allowance of £1,200 per annum.
• Confidential mental health support
• Electric vehicle scheme
• Cycle to work scheme
• risr/ pays for your internet.
• risr/ pays for a mobile phone and contract.
• risr/ provides genuinely flexible working and autonomy.
• risr/ allows you to set your working routine to suit you based on your role and team.
• risr/ has no defined maximum holiday allowance - you are free to manage your own time.
• Participation in risr/ profit share. 25% of the profits risr/ makes is split equally between the risr/ employees.
