What the job actually feels like

This is a build job.

When you join, BLP has no UK pipeline, no UK case studies, and no local playbook. It’s not the well-oiled machine with sophisticated processes for everything. What you get instead: an experienced Account Executive sitting next to you, a reporting line to the VP of Business Development and a strong DACH SDR team behind you. You get a winning product and a market nobody here has sold into yet. All of that comes with strong support from the Switzerland HQ.

Your first job is to work out who buys, why, and what makes them pick up the phone. You will hear no far more often than yes. The yes is a 30-minute discovery call with a CFO, COO, or Head of Finance at a large UK manufacturer or industrial business, where you run the meeting, present the value, and map the stakeholders live.

If you want a finished machine to plug into, this is the wrong role. If you want to help build the machine, read on.

About the role

As our Founding SDR in London, you own outbound into UK enterprise accounts. You will prospect and open relationships with Finance and Procurement leaders (CFO, COO, Head of Shared Services, Process Excellence, AP) and generate qualified opportunities for our agentic AI platform automating Purchase-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash. Don’t expect inbounds to carry you from day one.

You are one of the first commercial hires on the ground in a new market. You prospect, you run the connect calls, and you help write the playbook the next UK hires will use. You report directly to the VP of Business Development for now, work day to day with the UK Account Executive as a tag-team, and lean on the DACH SDR team for what already works.

You will monitor the UK market with regards to procurement and finance processes, ERP transformation announcements and buying triggers, and turn what you learn into better targeting. We need you to flag what is not working early and bring it to the team, so we fix the approach fast instead of grinding on a broken one.

Once the UK team reaches critical mass and shows initial success, we hire a local team lead (internally or externally).

Tech stack

You will work with a sharp outbound stack: HubSpot as our CRM and source of truth, Clay for enrichment and signal-based prospecting, Claude for AI assisted tasks and research, and LinkMatch to keep LinkedIn and HubSpot in sync without manual logging. That said, the work has a strong outbound and calling focus. You will help decide what to add as the motion matures.

We're excited about you because

• You have roughly 2 to 5 years of experience in a B2B SaaS SDR or BDR role, most of it outbound, and you have built or helped build an outbound motion rather than only working an established one.

• You know the UK market and can navigate UK enterprise buyers, ideally with experience selling to Finance, Procurement, or Operations.

• You can run a discovery call with a senior stakeholder: you hold the room, communicate clearly, adapt to a CFO or a Head of Procurement, and understand the buying center.

• You are comfortable with ambiguity. No inbound, no case studies, no script on day one does not rattle you, it interests you. You see opportunity.

• You enjoy problem-solving and have a natural curiosity that drives you to find creative solutions.

• You are looking for a role that comes with key responsibility beyond the typical SDR scope.

• You take ownership, ask for help when you are stuck, act on feedback, and pass on what you learn to the people who join after you.

Bonus points

• You have been a founding or first SDR in a new market, or helped stand up a new territory.

• You know the ERP domain, or have sold Finance, Procurement, or industrial software and are familiar with P2P/O2C processes.

• You are familiar with HubSpot as a CRM and Clay.

• You speak another European language.

What you'll get

• London Office. This role is based in our London office, You will spend regular time with your DACH peers in our HQ in Zurich and are invited over for onboarding.

• Onboarding built for a founding rep. There is onboarding material that trains you on our product, you get a buddy from the DACH SDR team and direct support from the VP Business Development.

• High earning potential. Uncapped commission and potential for a 6-figure package.

• Equal OTEs. As we share the same incentives, you'll be comped as the Account Executives.

• Opportunities to grow. You're controlling your personal development and career trajectory in a rapidly growing, internationally expanding startup.

• Exceptional colleagues. You'll be growing alongside individuals from exceptional academic backgrounds and careers.
