Enterprise Account Executive

ABOUT US

At DataEQ, we help organisations make sense of complex, unstructured customer and public data to drive better decisions, stronger customer outcomes, and smarter risk management.
Our AI-powered platforms and consulting-led insight solutions are used by large organisations across financial services, retail, telecoms and other data-intensive industries in Southern Africa, the UK and the Middle East.

We’re a growing technology and insights business with a strong culture of collaboration across commercial, marketing, product, analytics and consulting teams, and an ambition to continue scaling internationally.
Our work sits at the intersection of data, technology and strategy. We use our proprietary data, AI and analytical capabilities to help organisations understand their customers, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and make better commercial decisions.

ABOUT THE JOB

We’re looking for an Enterprise Account Executive to take ownership of qualified enterprise opportunities and drive them through the sales process from initial discovery through to signed agreement.

This is a mid-level enterprise sales role with full-cycle sales responsibility. You will carry your own new-business revenue target and will be expected to contribute to the development and management of your pipeline, lead client conversations, shape solutions, prepare proposals, manage commercial processes and close deals.

Our typical enterprise sales cycles are complex and can run for 6–12 months, with opportunities often involving high-value, multi-stakeholder sales processes.

You will primarily focus on winning new customers across Southern Africa, the UK and the Middle East, selling both DataEQ’s platform products and our growing portfolio of consulting and advisory solutions.

You will work closely with the Head of Revenue and Enterprise Sales Development Manager (ESDM). The ESDM will focus primarily on generating and qualifying new opportunities, while you will take ownership of qualified opportunities and progress them through the sales funnel. On larger or more complex opportunities, you will work collaboratively with the Head of Revenue and receive additional support from the ESDM. This role is particularly suited to an ambitious enterprise salesperson who has developed a strong foundation in B2B sales and is ready to take greater ownership of the full enterprise sales cycle.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY-TO-DAY

Enterprise Sales & Pipeline Management

• Own and deliver against a personal enterprise sales target and maintain a healthy new-business pipeline.
• Manage qualified opportunities from discovery through proposal, negotiation and close.
• Build relationships with multiple stakeholders, including senior decision-makers, and navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes.
• Identify where DataEQ’s products, data and consulting capabilities can deliver meaningful business value.
• Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting and opportunity information in HubSpot.

Discovery, Solution Selling & Presentations

• Lead structured discovery to understand client needs, challenges, buying processes and use cases.
• Translate complex data, analytics and AI capabilities into clear commercial propositions and business outcomes.
• Lead presentations, demonstrations and thought-leadership conversations with prospective clients.
• Work with Product, Analytics and Consulting teams to develop tailored solutions, pilots and proof-of-concepts where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to introduce consulting and advisory services alongside platform solutions.

Proposals, Negotiation & Closing

• Develop compelling proposals, scopes of work and RFP responses.
• Manage pricing, scope, contractual and procurement discussions.
• Lead negotiations and drive opportunities through to signed agreement.
• Bring in senior leadership and subject-matter experts where additional strategic, commercial or technical support is required.
• Ensure effective handover of won opportunities to delivery and account management teams.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with Marketing, Product, Analytics, Consulting and Commercial teams to progress opportunities and develop effective solutions.
• Share customer, market and competitive insights with the wider business.
• Analyse sales performance and contribute to improving conversion, sales velocity, forecasting and the enterprise sales process.
• Represent the voice of prospective customers internally and ensure customer requirements remain aligned with DataEQ’s capabilities.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Experience & Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in enterprise B2B sales, with a track record of progressing and closing complex opportunities and achieving revenue targets.
• Experience selling SaaS, technology, data, analytics or other consultative/solution-based offerings.
• Experience managing multi-stage sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
• Strong presentation, communication and commercial skills, with the confidence to engage senior clients.
• Experience using CRM systems for pipeline management and forecasting; HubSpot experience is advantageous.
• Highly organised, self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously in a remote-first environment.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone hungry to grow their enterprise sales career, with the drive and foundation to take greater ownership of the sales cycle. You should be commercially curious, confident, and comfortable with consultative selling. You don’t need to be a finished enterprise salesperson — we’re looking for the capability, ambition and potential to become one.

Bonus Points For

• Experience selling data, analytics, AI or SaaS solutions.
• Experience in customer experience, customer insights, risk, compliance or related fields.
• Experience selling into financial services, retail, telecommunications or other large enterprise environments.
• Experience selling consulting or professional services alongside technology products.
• Experience presenting research, thought leadership or complex analytical outputs to senior audiences.
• Experience working across multiple markets or international sales environments.
• Formal sales training or experience with structured enterprise sales methodologies, such as MEDDPICC or similar approaches.
• Experience working in or designing AI native / Agentic GTM systems
