Engineering Lead – AI Enablement (m/f/d)

Raisin is the world’s leading platform for savings and investment products. Founded in 2012, the FinTech connects consumers with banks in the EU, the UK and the US. This gives consumers better interest rates and banks a diversified form of refinancing. Our vision is to offer savings and investments without barriers and thus open up the global 160 trillion euro market.

Raisin currently employs more than 800 people from over 75 countries worldwide. Today, the platform holds over 80 billion euros in assets from more than one million investors which have accrued over 5 billion euros in returns.

Team

AI Enablement builds Raisin's internal AI platform. We make it easy and safe for every team, from engineering and product to business operations, to use AI in their daily work and in the products they build.

We provide the shared foundation for that: governed access to AI models and tools, the controls that keep data secure and usage auditable, and the visibility teams need to run AI reliably and cost-effectively. We also shape how Raisin builds software with AI, from AI-assisted coding to agentic workflows that support teams across the development lifecycle. Because Raisin operates in regulated financial services, security and compliance are core to how we design the platform.

The team is growing, and you will shape both what it builds and how it works.

Your Responsibilities

As Engineering Lead, you lead the engineers who build Raisin's internal AI platform and drive the company's AI-assisted engineering practices. You are accountable for the team's delivery, growth, and maintaining the AI platform users' trust.

You stay close to the technology, because in a field that changes this quickly, good leadership decisions depend on understanding the technical details.

Lead and grow the team

Hire, onboard, and develop engineers, and build a team that works autonomously across platform engineering, infrastructure, and AI.

Hold regular 1:1s, set clear expectations, and agree individual development plans with each engineer.

Give timely feedback, recognise strong performance, and address low performance early.

Create an environment of trust, open communication, and continuous learning, so the team keeps up with a fast-moving field without burning out.

Own delivery and operations

Own end-to-end delivery, from planning and estimation through implementation and release, balancing new capabilities with reliability and maintenance.

Make sure the platform runs well in production: on-call, incident handling, and service levels for the systems other teams rely on.

Spot risks and blockers early and resolve them, or escalate in time with a clear proposal.

Turn the AI strategy into quarterly goals and a roadmap the team commits to, together with your manager and stakeholders.

Run the platform as a product

Work with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to understand their needs and decide what the platform should offer next.

Measure adoption, reliability, cost, and impact, and use that data in planning and when reporting to leadership.

Manage the cost of AI usage and tooling, including budgets, licences, vendor relationships, and build-versus-buy decisions.

Shape the technical direction

Work with the team's tech leads on architecture and key technical decisions, and stay hands-on in design discussions, reviews, and selected implementation work.

Work with security, legal, and compliance colleagues to keep the platform and the company's use of AI secure and compliant.

Help engineering teams across Raisin adopt AI in their work through documentation, workshops, and direct support.

Your Profile

What you bring

3+ years leading engineers as an Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, or Team Lead, including hiring and performance management.

7+ years in software engineering overall, with a background in backend, platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling.

Experience leading a team that builds for internal customers, such as a platform, developer tooling, or shared services used by other engineers.

A track record of delivering production systems that other teams depend on, including ownership of their reliability.

A practical understanding of modern AI integration, such as LLM APIs, AI coding assistants, and agentic workflows, deep enough to evaluate technical decisions and challenge the team. You use AI tools in your own work.

Clear communication with engineers, product, and business stakeholders, and fluency in English.

Nice to have

Experience with AI platform topics such as model access, governance, observability, rate limiting, or cost management.

You have driven adoption of new tools or practices across an engineering organisation.

Experience leading distributed or hybrid teams.

Experience in a regulated industry such as banking or fintech.

You don't need to tick every box. If you have led a platform or developer-tooling team and you are excited about what AI changes for engineering, we would like to hear from you.

Join our mission, join our team – and grow with us!

At Raisin, we care about each other and it is one of our top priorities to foster an open and caring environment in which everyone feels welcome and comfortable. Our culture is strongly driven by our ambitious team, which connects more than 75 different nationalities.

As part of our team, you will benefit from:

Employee Development Budget of €2,000 and four full training days per year.

Flexible working hours, home office and 30 vacation days.

A company pension scheme (Betriebliche Altersvorsorge), which we support with 20%.

Enjoy more than 50+ different sports with Urban Sports Club: We subsidize your membership with more than €20 per month.

Do you miss being in the office? The Deutschland Ticket gets you there, which we subsidize with €25 per month.

Love cycling? With JobRad, lease the bike of your choice and enjoy tax savings, plus Raisin covers your monthly insurance costs.

Hungry all the time? Snacks, daily fresh fruit as well as drinks provided at the office.

You are moving from another country or city to join us? We may support your relocation.

Raisin Applicant Privacy Policy

We value diversity and the unique experiences each individual brings.
