About the role
AlphaGov delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.
We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. AlphaGov is engaging an Election Administration Systems Modernization Consultant for current state work. A state board of elections is modernizing its voter registration and election administration systems.
We confirm scope, schedule, and fee with you before any engagement begins.
What you'll do
- Assess voter registration, list maintenance, and election management workflows
- Define requirements for statewide voter registration system modernization
- Advise on HAVA, NVRA, and security requirements and integrations (DMV, ERIC, vital records)
- Support vendor evaluation, implementation planning, and testing
- Contribute qualifications and past-performance narrative to AlphaGov proposals when you authorize naming

Requirements
Required
- At least 5 years of professional experience with election administration or statewide voter registration systems
- Knowledge of HAVA and NVRA requirements
- Comfortable as a 1099 project-based consultant
Nice to have
- Election security / CISA experience
- Former state or county election official
- PMP
