Job Description
Get to Know the Team
Grab Procurement is a commercial partner—not just a compliance function. We create enterprise value through stronger supplier relationships, smarter commercial models, and tools that help the business move quickly and spend wisely.
We're transforming into an AI-enabled, outcomes-focused team where everyone owns a meaningful part of Grab's commercial impact. If you want to own results, not just run processes, join us.
Get to Know the Role
Indonesia needs Procurement that stays close to the business, moves quickly, and knows when sourcing requires deeper work. As the link between local teams and Procurement, you'll lead fast-cycle sourcing and more complex local sourcing when category strategy and market conditions call for it.
You'll bring Indonesian market insight into regional category decisions early, complementing Category Managers' expertise and regional perspective. You'll partner with the Buy Desk and lead a team of two
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Partner with Indonesian business and Finance leaders to clarify needs, objectives, constraints, and trade-offs. Involve Category Managers when their expertise is needed.
- Lead fast-cycle, low-materiality sourcing, then hand awards to the Buy Desk for onboarding, purchase orders, and catalogue setup.
- Own local execution and shape negotiations with the Category Manager. They own category strategy and lead regional or high-materiality awards.
- Surface Indonesian requirements early, explain when regional approaches won't work, and provide decision-ready recommendations.
- Turn repeat purchases into catalogues, rate cards, or standing agreements. Address split purchase orders and off-panel buying with the Buy Desk, and track touchless rate and sourcing cycle time.
- Close and renew contracts, monitor supplier performance and risk, and propose mitigations. Track realised savings using Finance's methodology; cost avoidance is not realised savings.
- Set priorities, review work, and coach two direct reports to source independently.
What Will Help You Thrive
- Treat the business as your customer and measure success by what it gets done.
- Remove bottlenecks and build lasting solutions instead of repeating the same sourcing work.
- Challenge with local facts while keeping relationships constructive.
- Coach colleagues to deliver independently.
- Apply AI to analysis and drafting, validate outputs against facts and policy, and own the final recommendation.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- 10+ years of Procurement experience, from in-market sourcing to complex sourcing and negotiation.
- Skilled in demand shaping, sourcing plans, and negotiating commercial terms.
- Proven results improving sourcing speed, catalogue coverage, or buying discipline.
- Procurement experience in Indonesia, with strong knowledge of its suppliers and business needs.
- Trusted partner to senior business and Finance leaders; experienced in coaching junior colleagues.
- Daily use of AI or data tools for benchmarking, scenario modelling, and drafting, with outputs checked against facts and policy.
