Why Bixal?
Bixal is a consulting company headquartered in Fairfax, VA, working alongside governments and organizations to help them deliver better services and experiences to the communities they serve. Using evidence-based knowledge and technology, Bixal empowers clients to deliver on their missions more effectively by fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Our values:
People-First: Emphasizing the importance of people in all aspects of work.
Collaboration and Transparency: Valuing teamwork and open communication.
Growth Mindset: Encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
Creating Lasting Impact: Focusing on meaningful outcomes and positive change.
About the role:
Bixal is building a pipeline of qualified subject matter experts (SMEs) to support anti-human trafficking training and technical assistance (T/TA). Selected experts may be engaged on a short-term, part-time basis to design training content, advise on and peer review training materials, and deliver training in-person or virtually.
Please read carefully before applying:
This is a call for experts to join a talent pipeline. By applying, you are asking to have your resume reviewed and, if appropriate, added to a consultant database for future consideration.
If you apply, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging that your application was received.
Your resume will then be reviewed and may be added to our consultant pipeline.
Applicant contact depends on alignment with the role. You will be contacted only if a specific project arises in 2027 for which your experience is a strong fit.
Joining our talent pipeline doesn't guarantee a project or assignment, and there's no obligation for either you or Bixal. If an opportunity aligns with your background, we'll be in touch.
Any potential work would be short-term and part-time (for example, designing the content for a single training, advising on one curriculum, or delivering one training session). Assignments are discrete and time-limited; they are not ongoing or full-time roles.
Availability, timing, and volume of work in 2027 depend entirely on project needs.
The compensation rate is expected to be $100 – $200/hour, depending on scope of work.
What Selected Consultants May Be Asked to Do:
Depending on the specific project need, engaged consultants may be asked to do one or more of the following on a short-term basis:
Design and develop training content and materials — for example, curricula, Training-of-Trainers (ToT) manuals, toolkits, micro-learnings, fact sheets, workbooks, desk guides, and screening tools — aligned with adult-learning principles and suited to in-person, virtual, and self-directed formats.
Advise on and review training content, including serving as a peer reviewer to assess the accuracy, relevance, and quality of materials.
Deliver training in person or virtually, including interactive sessions with case-based problem-solving and Q&A.
Update or adapt existing training content to reflect current best practices, terminology, and field needs.
Minimum Qualifications to apply:
Bachelor's degree.
At least 8 years of professional experience working in the anti-human trafficking space.
Recognized subject matter expertise in one or more areas of anti-human trafficking — for example, victim identification and response, prevention, case management, trauma-informed care, labor or sex trafficking, tech-facilitated exploitation, or clinical/healthcare response.
Experience developing and/or delivering training or educational content in the anti-human trafficking space, or comparable experience translating subject matter expertise into materials, presentations, or capacity-building for professional audiences.
Working knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centered approaches to human trafficking.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the SOAR (Stop, Observe, Ask, Respond) framework or comparable public-health approaches to human trafficking.
Our company is committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all individuals and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws. Employment decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and business needs.
