Business Development Representative

Our team is fully remote-first and working in the Eastern time zone. We are hiring for this full-time role locally in Toronto / GTA.

At OneLocal, our mission is to handle the entire digital marketing footprint for SMB's so owners can stop worrying about their online presence and focus entirely on running their business. We combine automated software with dedicated strategy experts to give everyday business owners an all-in-one marketing service that drives real revenue.

We're looking for a high-energy, resilient Business Development Representative based in Toronto who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to pick up the phone. Selling to tradespeople, contractors, and local business owners takes grit. They're often on job sites, busy, and get pitched marketing all day. If you are an ambitious communicator ready to cut through the noise, build quick rapport, and drive top-of-funnel growth, this full-time role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing High-Volume Outbound Prospecting:

• Execute around 100 cold calls a day to local business owners across North America to build interest and generate qualified leads.
• Drive Top-of-Funnel Growth: Book high-quality product demos for our Account Executive team, setting up seamless handoffs to ensure a strong prospect experience.
• Overcome Objections on the Fly: Navigate tough conversations and pushback from busy, skeptical trade owners by translating digital marketing into plain-language business value.
• Uncover Client Needs: Ask sharp discovery questions to quickly identify an SMB owner's pain points and match them with appropriate OneLocal products and services.
• Pipeline Management: Maintain clean data hygiene, track daily call metrics, and document key prospect insights within Salesforce.

What You Bring

• Location: Based in Canada and available to work core Eastern Time hours (9 AM - 5 PM EST).
• Cold Calling Grit: 1 or more years of experience in a high-volume outbound cold-calling role (door-to-door, SMB SaaS, or blue-collar sales experience is a huge plus). REQUIRED: We do not review candidates who do not have this experience—unless you find a creative way to get our attention and prove you belong here.
• SMB & Trades Relatability: Ability to speak comfortably with blue-collar business owners without relying on buzzwords or agency jargon.
• Resilience & Bounce-Back Mindset: A thick skin and a positive attitude that views hang-ups and blunt rejections as just one step closer to a booked demo.
• Communication & Pitching Skills: Strong verbal presence, quick-thinking objection handling skills, and the ability to build trust in under 30 seconds over the phone.
• Driven by Targets: A proven track record of hitting activity metrics, dial counts, and demo-setting quotas.
• Technical Stack: Familiarity with CRM systems, ideally Salesloft, and Salesforce.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

• High Impact: The opportunity to have a major impact at a growing company that is helping small and medium-sized businesses expand their digital presence.
• Remote-First Culture: Enjoy the flexibility of a 100% remote work environment working alongside a close-knit team.
• Compensation & Equity: Base salary of $45,000 CAD per year + uncapped commission structure, + stock option grants so you own a piece of our growth.
• Comprehensive Benefits: Access to robust health, dental, and medical benefits coverage, plus 3 weeks paid vacation and 5 personal days.
• Culture: Virtual social events, including team coffee chats, games, and happy hours.

At OneLocal, we are committed to building and fostering an environment where our employees feel included, valued, and heard. Our belief is that a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion enables us to truly create the best company culture possible. We strongly encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, experience, and perspectives regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age, citizenship, disability, and national origin.

Salary: $45,000 CAD yearly
