Job Overview

Position Schedule: Full-Time

Investment Manager Research (IMR) focuses on discretionary manager selection, issuing recommendations driving over $1 trillion USD in managed investment allocations (ETFs, Mutual Funds, Separately Managed Accounts, Private Investments, etc.) for the largest branch office field force in the United States, providing expertise across traditional and alternative asset classes, enabling our financial advisors to expertly support our clients in achieving their specific investment objectives. In a fiduciary gatekeeper capacity, the Analyst role in IMR maintains dedicated coverage of outside investment managers and strategies within their asset class, providing high-conviction ratings on strategies which are expected to beat benchmark and peers, and is aligned with those expected outcomes through substantive compensation mechanisms. The role cultivates the quality of the recommended list (the IMR Focus List), by continuing to enhance it with best in class strategies for both internal stakeholders (as these strategies are the building blocks of our $150B+ mutual fund complex, where we collaborate with the '40-Act Advisor internal portfolio management team to the complex) and external for users of the list in our various advisory and brokerage platforms.

What You'll Do:

• Proactively identify, recommend, monitor and drive allocations of investment funds and strategies expected to outperform benchmarks and peers, following Investment Manager Research's rigorous investment process.
• Serve as investment management industry SMEs to support our discretionary model portfolio program, proprietary manager-of-managers mutual fund complex and brokerage sample portfolios, as well as other investment stakeholders, investment committees, and 1940-Act Funds Board of Directors.
• Within an asset class, analysts specializing in that specific asset class will develop strategies for allocating investment funds within that asset class to optimize returns and manage risks, partnering with our portfolio management team to inform a more optimal combined investment profile.
• Communicate strategy updates, investment performance evaluations and industry trends, breaking down complex information to communicate effectively with key stakeholders including firm management, investment committees, financial advisors, and clients.
• Sought-after internal consultant and SME, supporting internal stakeholders such as Products, Strategic Partner Committee, Profit Sharing Committee, HSA Committee, and myriad firm-wide strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to development of ideas and creation of content for thought leadership material focused on delivering insights obtained from the panoptic view of the fund management industry.
• Travel regularly to perform on-site due diligence with investment managers, deploy qualitative and quantitative techniques and tools, develop recommendations and present to various investment committees, and perform rigorous ongoing monitoring responsibilities on the approved Focus List funds in the Edward Jones ecosystem

Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism.
