Job Description
Account Executive Company: AppoByte Employment type: Full-time Location: Tampa, FL (must live in Tampa or the surrounding area; remote work with in-person events)
We are looking for a driven, Tampa-based Account Executive to own the full sales cycle for our app, a field service management platform for mid-market general contractors. This is a hunter role. You will generate your own leads, work them, run demos, and close, all on your own initiative. You will not be handed a pipeline and told to dial through it. You will build the pipeline, own it, and turn it into revenue.
If you are a self-starter who is hungry to sell, comfortable starting conversations with strangers, and you already use AI tools to work fast and punch above your experience level, we want to talk to you. This role is open to recent grads and early-career candidates. Drive and work ethic matter more to us than years on a resume.
Role Purpose Own the full sales cycle for our app, from first touch to signed deal. Find your own opportunities, run great demos, and close new general contractor customers, while representing us in person at the events where our buyers gather.
Responsibilities Prospecting & Pipeline Generate your own leads through outreach, networking, referrals, and events. Build and manage your pipeline, and keep it organized and up to date in our CRM. Qualify opportunities and focus your time where you can win.
Selling & Closing Run the full sales process from first conversation through close. Deliver product demos tailored to each contractor's pain points, and speak about the product with confidence. Handle objections, follow up relentlessly, and close new business. Use AI tools to research prospects, sharpen your outreach, and move faster.
Events & Industry Presence Represent us in person at industry events and trade shows, both alongside our Marketing & Events Specialist and on your own. Work events with our industry associations, including ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors) and AGC (Associated General Contractors). Most events are in Central Florida, with occasional larger national shows. Use events to source leads, start conversations, and build relationships that turn into deals.
Requirements A true self-starter who is driven, competitive, and comfortable owning your own numbers without someone pushing you. Comfortable prospecting and starting conversations with people you have never met, in person and over the phone or email. Confident presenting and demoing a product to a business audience, or eager to learn fast. Comfortable using AI tools (such as ChatGPT and Claude) to research prospects, personalize outreach, and work efficiently. This is central to how we sell. Personable and persuasive, able to build rapport quickly and earn trust. Willing and able to travel to events, mostly in Central Florida with occasional national shows. Comfortable working on a fully remote team and staying organized and accountable on your own. A degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience. Bonus: any sales, retail, or customer-facing experience, familiarity with HubSpot or another CRM, and interest in SaaS, construction, or the field service industry.
Compensation Base salary plus commission.
Work Environment This is a full-time, fully remote position reporting to the CEO, with support from the COO. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime based on event schedules and company needs.
